Poor idle and stalling when coming to a stop with clutch in are just some of the more obvious symptoms. The non-obvious symptom that has the biggest impact is the fact that our MAF (mass air-flow sensor) meters the air coming through the intake. When you shift under boost, you purge a lot of that air into the atmosphere, however, the fuel system still supplies the amount of fuel required to maintain the AFRs designated by the tune. So, when you have all that fuel and less air, it causes a rich condition between sihfts that is 100% unavoidable no matter what you feel or don't feel. It is completely improper to run the HKS SSQV or any other VTA BOV unless it is recirculated. Even then, the HKS SSQV does not properly open at idle like other BOVs, because it is a pull-type, yet we need our BOV to open at idle in order to maintain the proper vaccuum. maybe your idle is high to mask it or something, but it should not work without some noticable symptoms. Regardless, though, the aforementioned rich condition is happening every time you shift under boost.
