Cobb has been saying that since April of 2006. Plus, there's absolutely no reason to drive around with your laptop. You just get it flashed and drive. If you want to change tunes, you have to change gas anyway, so it's not something that you absolutely must have with you all the time. You change fuel at home, plug in the laptop, change the tune, then go drive. It's going to be very rare that you need to on the fly change tunes suddenly while also raising boost and swapping your fuel. I have 4 separate custom tunes and never drive around with my laptop just in case I need to swap tunes. I only use the different tunes in specific situations that are planned ahead of time, because they require fuel changes.
Plus, even if you get flashed, that doesn't preclude you from getting a CobbAP if it ever becomes available. It just means you'll have a great, easy, simple, cheap way to have your car tuned instead of driving around untuned waiting for a product that is more than a year overdo.
RP will be great for your ProTune with the AP, but not until it's released. They do not like to use EcuFlash because of contractual agreements, so that's why I point everyone to Justin.
PS. What's the 5280 (mile) reference?
