i didnt mention the new intercooler because i took the car to the Mitsubishi dealer and they replaced a coupler and 2 clamps on the LICP and said they were positive it wasnt a boost leak and didnt sound like one at all when they drove it. i'm not really sure what kind of test they did but i believed them. i'm taking the car back to them on Wed. so they can do a full diagnostic test.

Also, running E85 without being tuned for E85? That's a very, very poor decision. Running E85 requires a LOT more fuel, so if he ran E85 with a 91oct tune, I fear what may have happened.
I mixed 3gal of e-85 with the rest 91oct but as soon as I heard the car make that noise I let off and didn't do it again until i had gone through about 3 more tanks of only 91. i didn't mention the e-85 in the beginning because i called Buschur and they said that shouldn't have affected anything since it was doing that before. what do you think happen Warrtalon?
I'll check the MAF connections Tobz but Street Concepts swapped a MAF from another '05 and it didnt help.

thanks for all your suggestions/help everyone i really want to get this fixed
