Can you get us pics of the clutch? Also have them micrometer the friction pads of both discs, check the runout on the intermediate and top plate.

7K is very low to burn up a twin and from what I can tell you certainly aren't putting down near enough power to really push it's limits.

Were you having any engagement problems? If the discs/plates were warped you'd notice it in the pedal and when trying to shift.

Get us pics and numbers and I'm sure we can tell you better than your shop what condition your clutch is in.

(BTW I have the same clutch)
