scottish newbie - help?!
Hey guys, i've just moved to Denver from Scotland due to my job.
I owned an Evo 8 back home - a 2005 grey MR FQ340 with 410bhp @ fly (330+ @ wheels) and loved it. It was mildly tuned, with ECUTEK flash, Walbro fuel pump, de-cat 3" exhaust, Apexi AVCR boost controller, uprated actuator, dump valve, etc etc.
I am thinking about getting one over here, as i miss it. I am however concerned about how modified Evo's run over here as the gas is low octane - back home i ran mine on 99 RON unleaded, which you could get at the pumps!
Where is the nearest reputable Evo tuner to me in the Denver/CO area? If there is one near me then this will greatly influence my decision in getting one. I cant believe how cheap the Evo's are over here!
I am also considering getting a 2004 911/996 C4S, or a 2005 997 C2S because they are half the price compared to UK, but i just love turbo-charged cars! There's an outside chance i may stretch to a 2003 911 Turbo.
i've owned a 500bhp Cosworth in the past, as well as an M3, and a 850 kilo Peugeot 205 GTI hot hatch with 230bhp Mi16 engine in it (twin carbs, high lift cams, head work, etc), which i used to race. It was quicker to 100mph than the M3!
any advice appreciated - thanks in advance.
Allan
