the same thing happened to my evo at about 25000 miles. I would be willing to bet that in a couple of months you wont be able to get it in reverse. My advice to you is to take it to Jack, he does a full rebuild for pretty cheep and stands behind his work 100%. He did mine and after a few months it started grinding again, we took it out sent it back down to him and he found out that the input shaft was bent. Didnt even charge me to fix the problem or for the new input shaft, he defenitly will always have me as a customer.
