big difference in the cost most likely has a bit to do with the crank each kit is using. you see some places like SBR using OEM 4G64 cranks, and thats why their kit is like 1600$ vs some kits where the crank alone might be worth that.
on to your question, 2.2 strokers are usually aimed more towards larger turbo high revving applications, where your 2.3 usually push lots of air, but can't rev as high. the AMS 2.3RR is a different beast, but thats also a 10K$ motor
