I read thru some threads, and looks like EVO's have a good aftermarket. How much horsepower can the EVO blocks handle? I see changing the exhaust, adding a downpipe, chip mods, etc gets you more horsepower...but what about a 150 shot of NOS, or a really big turbo? How much max horsepower can you get out of these? 500hp, 600hp, ?
I know on stock Mustangs 4.6 motors...you can safely get 450 HP on the block before you have to start worrying about your drive home....

There are 600+ whp daily driven Evos with the GT35R. You can get 350whp on 93oct out of the stock engine/turbo with just cams as the biggest mod. 400whp on the stock engine/turbo w/alky injection. 450whp on the stock engine/turbo w/alky and C16. After that, it's all done with upgraded turbos...some are up to 800whp, but I am sure the engine is fully built...same for those with 600whp, I believe.
My '05 has $900 in mods (cat-back, boost controller, s-afc, K&N, metal bov) and ran 12.2@109 on 99oct. My best mph was right at 111mph, but 4th gear on the 6spd runs out right at 111, otherwise I think I had another .5-1 mph to go, since I was bouncing off the rev limiter several counts before the traps. This puts me at an estimated 320whp with easy bolt-ons installed in my driveway.
