I used 245/45-17 V710s last year on my stock rims with the stock suspension. They fit fine with no issues, and they performed well, but they were actually so grippy that they overpowered the stock suspension. Over the Winter, I added a full race suspension, then moved up to 285/30-18 V710s on 18X9.5 rims with big spacers and fender rolling. I originally wanted to do some very light 17X9.5 rims with 275/40-17s, but those would not fit, because the tire is too tall and would rub on the inside. Doing 275/40s on stock rims is not goint to be good. Even 255s on the stock rim (17X8) hang over the edge a little bit.
I would suggest at least a 17X9 to fit 275 V710s, but then you'd have to make sure it can all fit. I couldn't confirm that, so I stepped up to 18s with a lower profile.
