Competition suspension setups

If anyone knows of some good suspension setups that they've used or used by EVO owners they know, please chime in here and give details. We're trying to gather some info for some good handling guides.

thats too broad of a question. There are coilovers from 700 up to 10,000.

after you can run the car to the limits on the stock suspension is when you want to upgrade. A good coilover corner balanced and a rear sway bar is where to start. I have the helix track with the cusco adjustable swaybar. Corner balanced and alighned. 2.5 front negative camber and 1.5 rear. About the limit if you drive you car on the street. Anything more and tire wear would be bad. Hope this helps

I will be documenting my Ohlin setup soon. It all gets installed and corner balanced in a few weeks. However, a sway bar upgrade is not needed necessarily - it all depends on the setup. This setup is designed to utilize the stock sways, and I will have 2 alignment settings - one for racing and one for the street, so I don't have to be restricted to one setup that works moderately well for both. I will have marks on the tie rods and such to show me where to move everything when its time to swap between alignments.

Well I don't think my question was too broad - I asked for people to post suspension setups that they've used or have seen Evo owners use. Had I asked for a list of good suspension setups, manufacturers, etc, that would have been a generic request.

Maybe I could have been more specific in asking them to post what type of competition (and class) the setup was used in so we can mention that in our guides. This information will be used to let beginners know what they should be looking at to be competitive in various types of competition.

So far we have two setups posted.

it all depends on your driving also. If you are looking for a easier setup for beginners it would problary be something more neutral. Not much push or oversteer. I personally like it stiffer in the rear for better rotation. Generally a stiffer front will make the car push or understeer harder. I am running 7k in the front and 10k in the rear. I have the 25mm cusco swaybar on the middle setting. It is not for the novice because the car will come out rather easily if you dont know how to drive it. It has Excellent rotation in the corners though. i am still fine tuning the settings.
