05 Evo (center differential problem)

I bought my 05 evo 1 year 4months ago. It now has 67,000 miles on it. Yixe! Well the problem is that my center differential went out and the dealership wants to charge me $3,700 for the part and an additional $700 for labor for a total of $4,400. Ive been told that center diff's on average run around $2,000. Iv'e looked like crazy but can't find any nowhere. So the question is does anybody know a website where i can buy one cheaper then $3,700? I also heard that the center diff going out on you is not rare at all. If anyone has any help or info for me i would really appreciate it. Thanx!

you can get a different diff but i dont know if it will work properly with the acd in your 05. check out gruppe-s.com for info on diffs. or also check out sheptrans.com since that is all they do!

^^^I agree. Ive been on the phone with Shep before and just a phone call is very helpful. And SicLanEvo is right, THATS ALL THEY DO lol.
