Hey guys I REALLY need some help...!!!!!!!!

Last thursday I was drivin home and got pulled over. He said he got me doin 98 in a 65. I never been pulled over before so I'm nervous as hell about it. There was this ambulance tho that was tailgating me and I got tired of it and I couldn't move over cuz there were so many cars in the middle lane. so I sped up to get outta the way and before I realized it I guess I was doin 98. It's a $280 ticket with 5 points on the line. i don't have $280 and to save my dad's insurance rates from goin up from the points, I'm takin it to court. Honestly,...What do you think'll happen? It's my first and so far only ticket. I'm really hoping they'll jus give me probation before judgement or get rid of the points or the cop just doesn't show up, and they'll throw out the case. Problem is I have this gut feeling that I won't be that lucky simply cuz the speed was so high. What do you think'll happen...?

never hurts to go to court. normal situation they will cut it in half. if you can prove why you were speeding the judge might give you an extra margin of slack. try getting a written letter from an ambulance driver that might help the judge see your "concern".

That sounds like a good idea but I don't know the ambulance driver that was following me. I could jus get a letter from a random ambulance driver but I don't know if it'll work because I think the driver may have been talkin to the driver as it happened, you know...tryin to set me up. If that's true then he's gonna say it in court and catch the lie and that'll really mess me up...Still could work though...! Can you think of anything I could say or do to "prove" it if that happens?

I got off kinda easy...

The judge gave me 2 points and reduced the fine from $280 to $100. He believed my explanation of how the ambulance was tailgating like crazy... He said that he felt my record was too clean for a sudden 5 point violation like that...

NICE, Lucky you. Will those points spike your Insurance costs? You can also take a class and get 2 points scrubbed off quite easilly so do that before insurance finds out.

I guess That was pretty lucky. i'm on my parents' insurance so I don't know if it went up or not. They said it was high so they switched, but that was cuz it was comparing my old car(4-door) to my new one(2door)...They haven't said anything about the ticket yet so I guess not...

But I'm not sure about those points though. The judge said it was a 2 point violation but they gave me a copy of my driving record and it said nothin about points...In fact he wrote in pen on the top of the paper PBJ. So I'm not sure if I got a PBJ or what?...

Man there were some crazy cases there...Some kid got caught doin Doughnuts in a parkin lot. The cop said he saw smoke comin from the rear tires but the kid drove a Honda Integra so i'm sure the cop lost alotta points in his defense with the judge. Another guy got caught doin 81 in a 35. He got acouple tickets that were really high so I'm sure he got hit hard...
