Well, it's time for me to get DSL. I guess there's a deal through SBC, comes with modem and what ever, there's some stuff that I install... What exactly do I have to do? A has anyone else done this? If I can install an AFC, can I do this?
Most DSL places will do the install for you if you are not sure what you are doing and it is hardware. If it is software, then they LOVE to do the install because they set your hompage to their companys web page and a bunch of other crap you don't want.... in many cases including installation of spyware on your system.

its pretty simple most compters now comes with the ethernet card so all you have to to is plug your phoneline to the modem then to the computer.then create a new internet connection for the dsl.they send you a complete detail on how to set it up specially if you have the windows xp its pretty quick.having somebody coming over to install it for you might run you about $100 or so for the installation charge
