2006 LANCER EVO IX SE, Question?

Hey guys,

I just bought a 2006 Lancer Evo IX SE 2.0L 4 cylinder. The only upgrades on this car were: new intake, intercooler kit, and a blow off valve. However, I can't seem to find the exact HP or TQ for my exact model Evo? Does anyone know? Completely stock I believe the HP is 280 or 281? I'm not really sure.. and I couldn't find the 0-60 time for my car either, does anyone know that? I could only find 1/4 mile times for this car stock which I believe was somewhere around 12.13 seconds.

I'm sure this info is out there. 286hp/and like 283ft.lbs. of torque at the flywheel. This is what Mitsu rated it at or somewhere close to this. 0-60 time will very between driver and same with 1/4mile time. I have seen bone stock cars go pretty quick down the 1/4. As far as your mods they are probably hurting your performance if your untuned. What intake? intercooler kit? is it the FMIC and piping? and what BOV? Is that all that is done to the car?

I just found this on the car. So this is probably the HP and TQ that it has purely stock. I'm not sure what type of intake, BOV, or intercooler kit it has yet. I'll take a look later today and see if I can't get that information for you. I'm more interested in this cars 0-60 and how much extra power I might be getting with those parts the previous owner had installed. That's all that has been done to this car, but it was also installed my Mitsubishi's mechanics so I'm fairly certain it was installed properly. However, you think it might be hurting the cars performance?

Found this (below):
New for all Lancer Evolution models, the 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder DOHC intercooled-turbocharged engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and Electronic Control (MIVEC) is tuned to deliver maximum power across lower, middle- and higher parts of the rev band, generating 289 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm to offer a level of flexibility never before seen from the 4G63 engine. While peak horsepower has also increased to 286 at 6500 rpm, there is now more power and response on tap on the left side of the tachometer, thanks to the combination of MIVEC, a revision in the turbocharger's compressor housing, and an improved muffler that also offers a throatier exhaust note.

if you are running that untuned yes you are losing power.... there will be gains in it somewhere but not until its tuned properly. I posted the stats for the 05's sorry. the info above is correct. 0-60mph why do you need to know this so bad. Before you get tuned you might as well add a Boost gauge first, then full exhaust, boost controller and fuel pump. then your car will be alot faster with the proper tune. is this your first turbo car? Are you familiar with the 4g63 motor and turbo setup?

This is my first turbo car yes. I'm only curious on the 0-60 because, I know that some Evo's can do 0-60 around 3.5 seconds which I find very impressive. I did some reading up on the 4G63 when I bought the car. I don't know much about brands of anything though in terms of turbo's, intakes, and intercooler kits or BOV's. I know what they do of course, but I don't know anything about what brands best or anything like that.

first off since your car is used you need to find out exactly what is done to it. do you have any under the hood pics? yeah they can reach 3.5 for 0-60 with very minimal mods. Congrats on your purchase treat it well, dont dump the clutch! slip it so you dont break anything major.

I bought it off a Mitsubishi lot and I'm told the car was inspected by their mechanics and everything is just fine on the car. The car only has 14,595k on the original engine with 1 previous owner who only put those 3 mods on it. I got some pictures of the car and under the hood so maybe you can identify what type of mods are on the car? I can send the pictures via email or over AIM.

It's been my understanding that putting mods on these cars actually decreases performance? I was reading that on a forum somewhere but is that really true? Perhaps that's because, the engines aren't being tuned properly after people add on mods?

yes once the car is modded it needs to be tuned to accomedate more fuel for more airflow. If its not done performance can suffer and a lot of other bad stuff can happen depending on mods. Just because it passed inspection doesn't mean its running like it should. my email is sic95gst@yahoo.com if you want to send the pics. They also cant tell if the car has been tuned....they can see something is changed in the ecu but dont know what or why.....
