400hp daily driver

Alright hello guys new to the forum
i just picked up my 03 evo about 2 monthes age it has a few small midifications like exhaust clutch, and cold air intake nothing crazy. but basicaly im looking at building a reliable 400hp daily driver and im new to evos so just lookin for some info on the best way to achieve this goal

-cams
-walbro 255 fuel pump
-head studs
-boost controller
-evo IX turbo / FP Red or green turbo


Find a good tuner. Someone who is actually going to look into your ECU and tune, instead of giving you a tune that was given to someone else. I think I listed all the things that you need. Im sure someone will correct me if I left anything out. A reliable "near" 400 hp car can be done with basic bolt ons. Ive done it and so has another moderator on this forum.

thank was starting to wonder if i would get a response other question how much can the bottom end,tranny,rear,etc handle before i nee to worry about that sort of stuff car has
70,000 miles on it anything i should concider replaceing with that many miles and wanting that much power

My hoonest opinion would be that those parts shouldnt fail at 400hp. Although it depends on how you drive/launch your car. Your bottom end should be fine. Just make sure that you buy some headstuds. SicLanEvo drove his car way over 100,000 miles and i know that he drove quite spirited. Just make sure that you keep up with maintenance and change your fluids on time, youll be fine.

185k to be correct, with all those mods and a few more on the car for well over 120k. I never had headstuds though, lol. 25psi all day long stock block, head, trans, diffs, and axles!

I was never easy on it, I just stopped launching it after 85k. I drive hard and my daily commute was 100 miles roundtrip on which i did +80mph to and from!

If your going to do head studs upgrade that head gasket as well cant stress that enough

alright so far price shoping i got these prices all from lancershop.com fuel pump- 105
arp head studs- 115
evo9 fp red turbo and install kit- 2350
cometic head gasket- 100 having trouble with cams and boost controler any suggests and do these prices seam fair

boost control you should do a ecu controlled boost with a 3 port electronic solenoid and a tuner who knows how to adjust it.

also look other places besides lancershop, not a bad vendor but not he best either. checkout speedelement.com , extremeturbosystems.com and there are a million more that are decent and have stuff in stock

I honestly think the ECU controlled boost is the way to go. I love it and wont use anything BUT that. As for cams, im a fan of Kelford or Comp. Preferably Kelford. And if you want to maintain good driveability for everyday driving, id stay with some 272's. MAYBE 280's. You can research the difference in cams though.

Lancershop is ok. Ive bought a couple things from there, but only usually if another site didnt have what I wanted in stock. Machevo.com is another site, and ive actually been to their shop. Theyre good people and have good customer service.
