Boost Problem Help ! !

Hello everyone i am from trinidad in the caribbean ....

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS ...

EQUIPMENT EVO 7 JDM GSR !

Firstly the car was set up ...with a

pro fec b spec 2 controler
greddy BOV TYPE RS
Greddy E Manage
Autometer guages ...
Apexi Cat Back 3" Exhaust


My engine is completely rebuilt with forged and internals

now MY PROBLEM

myPSI IS NOT CONSISTENT

MY DESIRED BOOST PSI IS 24PSI

my settings are as followed

set 87
SET GAIN 10%
START BOOST 170
WARNING 250
LIMITER 20%

WHAT'S UP WITH THAT WHY AM I GETTING BOOST FALL OFF'S INTO MY RED LINE

FORGIVE ME BUT ISN'T MY BOOST PRESSURE SUPPOSED TO BE CONSTANT ?

WHY AM I LOOSING PSI ?

please i really need help here ...any one can give me the formula ..for the respective boost pressure

The stock turbo can not keep up with the demands of the engine at high boost/high RPM operation. About the most it will maintain until redline is 20 psi. If you get a larger turbo it will be able to maintain higher boost into the upper RPM range.

Ok but i am not running the stock turbo i am running a white rabbit turbo

so can u please tell me ....

what's the boost settings on the profec b for 24 psi on stock turbo

and for my set up with the white rabbit

we both have the same setups's except his is stock turbo and mines is not !

did you have a modified wastegate arm fitted, or modify the original?
can you run "interrupt" type solenoid ?
Is there any information in your boost managment that tells you the result of various settings? My eboost gives me a pretty good idea what settings need to be changed in order to get the results I am looking for.

The answer is the same for the white rabbit as it is for the stock turbo.... you gain a few hundreed RPM at high boost, but nothing really significant in my opinion. It still can not flow the CFM that the engine is demanding at high RPM so boost falls off.

Fourdoor may have a point. But you can run 23 lbs boost that I know of. That is all I have the nads to run.
Trouble is, timing takes a big hit as you increase the boost. To be honest I am not sure the timing I am pulling is worth that extra few lbs of boost.
Of course if you have a knock proof car you are golden.

Do you have the high pressure WG actuator? I would assume yes since you are carrying 23 psi up to redline. The original poster didn't mention having a high pressure WG actuator, but I guess that doesn't mean he don't have one. Hell, he didn't mention the WR in the first post!

no, the mechanic just ran the nut down on the stock unit. (wow, better clarify I don't have a clue what he did) I think he said he adjusted it for a little pretension. So I am running a WR with the stock arm, prolly same as the original poster. I should have said I had a WR too.
It feels like there is more boost available although I have no idea how steady it would be.
Right now knock is keeping me from enjoying it as much as I would like. I have to have timing way down around 7,8,9,10 in the tough spots. Which makes me wonder where my egt are.

anyway more to the point, I have no experience that would help BTRINIEVO7 with his Pro Fec B. good luck,
