you might need a different size tube though... i forget how big the inlet of the evo turbo is.
Alright i got my tester hooked up today i had to plug the hose that comes out of the valve cover (front right) . From what i can tell i hear no leaks . I need to take of my front bumper and examine it more but the news for now is now leaks any help fellas??
hmm. well, if it's not a leak then my next gut feeling would point at the wastegate actuator but that would not explain the rough idle. from what you can see is there any dents in the intake / intercooler pipes?
also, try this for me. clear the ecu's maps by unplugging the battery or yank the fuse (i think it's the radio fuse) for like 30 seconds and then start up the car, let it warm up to operating temperature and then go take it for a ride and tell me how it feels. try not to do this on a day that is amazingly hot... i want to take as many factors out of the problem as possible.

Well i have no dents in my piping, in fact they look brand new. Mitsubishi replaced the wastegate last time i had it in for service. I will try your idea of letting the car cool down and reset my ecu leaving my battery unpluged for 10 min. Its a raining now in vegas but its very cool out so tonight when the rain lets up ill give it a try thanks for all your support jivemaster
Holy sh** my car is fixed now . The factory bov was installed backwards the whole time, mitsu put it on that way. Anyway i work at a car dealership and we took a 05 in for trade today, i popped the hood and noticed the bov was sideways, on my car the bov was installed with the hose coming out of the top and facing upward the way it is supposed to be is sideways .. Well time to mod this bad boy thanks fellas

In this post you state you had to plug the VC breather hose.
You have a bad PCV Valve.
Buy a handful of new Mistu PCV valves and change them every other oil change.
You were pushing boost right into your valve cover and not your engine ....
OK so what and where is that pcv valve your talking about? Every other oil change huh?
My car feels great now temps have cooled down cause its the end of summer out here in las vegas, put a manual boost controller on the car boost guage and it runs better than ever before!
Well I know on the DSM's 4G63 it's on the passanger side to the rear of the valve cover, it looks like a long nipple screwed in the back with a hose going stright to the intake manifold.
It's most likely diferent on the Evo's 4G63 however, that might give you an idea of what to look for. What it is, is a one way valve. with a ball and spring inside to allow blow by gas's to escape into the intake manifold and sent back though the engine again. Cost about $3 from Auto Zone for the dsm, should be about the same I would think for the evo.
You can check it simply by blowing in on the side the hose was attached, if you can easily blow air into though it, it's bad so just spend $3, screw that one out screw in the new one and enjoy.

Heres a pcv valve on a srt4 head was mad by mistubishi so top left in the red circle
Also if you ever have bad idle, power loss again try tighting down the clamps on all the intercooler piping. Mitsubishi is known for that. Well atleast in the srt4 world since mitsubishi did our turbo set-up.
see, thats why they say the first part of any diagnosis is a good visual inspection(you would have seen that one a mile away if you knew what you were looking for). as for dealers, yes there are a lot of incompetent techs in all manufacturers all over the country, this is and always will be a problem. i never have /will bring my evo to the dealer(not like they would warr' anthing anyway). I only trust myself with my cars. (BMW tech 5 years)
is that true about the pcv valves? should i be changing it periodically. i didn't even really think about that, thanks
I have 11,000 miles on my 05 evo. I replaced the pcv vavle for 13.00 . I would only use the factory vavle. I replace mine every other oil change , one hasnt gone bad yet and car runs great . And that pic on the srt -4 doesnt look like the same valve evo's use .
