Would 23 PSI be ok on 93 with my mods? (TBE, cone filter, flash)

It works for me and the car pulls like a beast. I don't see why it wouldn't for you at the same octane. I wrote that I would be turning the boost up to 23psi on 93 when I sent my ecu to Al, so that might have something to do with it.

23 should be fine on 93oct with your IX, but be sure that's your absolute MAX spike. Don't set it to settle at 23 with a spike of 26 or anything.

Mine is set at 22, but then I had Al do a custom flash on Buschur's dyno so I would assume he was able to tweak it for optimal settings in both performance and reliability.

By the way, car feels awesome and I'm very happy with the way she came out!

Of course, now I only want to do more and more to the car, a sentiment to which my wife only rolls her eyes...

Geese, did you put down 302/280 on the Buschur MD??? If so, that's great power. If you don't mind, write up a review thread for your parts, service, and tuning if you have the time.

Yes, that was on the Buschur dyno. I don't have a base run to compare it to unfortunately, since I had already installed all the parts before I went there for the tune. Nonetheless, the car feels great, and as everyone who has had this type of tune has said, it's a day and night difference over stock.

I'll see if I can write up a quick review tomorrow.

I can tell you that stock IXs do around 215-220 on the Buschur dyno. Also, a IX with your mods plus FMIC, IC pipes, and some other stuff (all from Buschur) ran an 11.76 @ 116.8 after putting down 321whp on that same dyno. You're only 20whp off of that...

Yeah, I was chatting with that guy (he was there the same day getting his car tuned as well). We compared dyno graphs and they were remarkably similar in their make-up as far as when the power peaks, the area under the curve, etc.

My plan next year is now for the o2 housing, exhaust manifold, cams, and possibly an upgraded intercooler if I have the extra funds. I'm probably going to hold off for the moment on the full intake piping and UICP as I'm not sure how much gain I'd get from those right now. I'm almost sure to do them at some point, but I think there are better mods for the money at this point.

Alright, I got the rest of the parts in. I took her out for a ride to check the boost. At first it stopped at 17 PSI. I adjusted the MBC, got it up to 19. Went for another ride to be sure that was it, then tweaked it a few more times. I punched it in 4th, watched the boost, and it hit 23 psi, not spiking, and drifted off to about 21 higher up in the RPMs (4000+). In fifth, between 3000 and 4000 RPM, it stuck at 23. Does this sound alright? As far as I've seen, it hasn't hit over 23 at all. Car feels great, but haven't had a chance to really get on it. The roads around here aren't the place to really feel it, I guess.

Anyway, as expected, it makes a lot more noise now. The DV, especially. But, I love the sound of the intake now with the cone filter. It really adds some more aggression to an already aggressive car.

Awesome! Thank you all so much for the help. I just took the car out again, and it definitely pulls harder. I'll probably do the LICP soon, too.
