Cylinder Pressure!
It may seem as if I am reading into this too much, but I just really want to know to be able to understand how all of this works.
Alright, so here is my question:
Based on a compression checker the compression in all of my cylinders is 180-185 or so. My boost is running around 21-22psi, together that makes 201-207psi of total cylinder pressure. As I understand it 93 Octane Gasoline will combust from pressures 200psi or so. Now I understand that since I have 272 i/e cams they are overlapping and therfore letting some of that pressure out, but if that is the case then why does my compression checker say that I have 180-185psi and that being the case I would have over 200psi and in theory the 93 Octane Gasoline that I am running should be detonating, but of course it is not.
I realize that I am probably just not understanding something properly, but if someone knows, let me know, thanks.
