diverter valve

So i ordered a jdm diverter valve and was wondering how this will affect my car and why would the stock one only allow( or be good for) 14 psi?

The JDM MR DV will hold boost more efficiently, because it's stronger. This means when you are under full boost, all of that pressure and energy will go towards making power as opposed to some of the pressure leaking out through the weak stock BOV. You can go up to 25psi before this thing starts to leak.

The stock one did not only "allow" 14psi. It will allow any psi you give it. Stock boost is 19.5psi on your 04, so the BOV didn't keep you from hitting 19.5psi - it just kept you from efficiently using 19.5psi, because that valve would start to open at 13-14psi and leak out some of that boost.

Are you sure you purchased a JDM MR valve or just a JDM piece. It'll be worth it just to make sure.

How much boost would a crushed MR BOV hold?

It doesn't need to be crushed. It works fine uncrushed to 25psi, and there doesn't seem to be much benefit beyond that even when crushed unlike the old 1G BOV.
