What exactly is it and how is it done? also with the right equipment is it doable by yourself, and how hard is it to do on your own. How much would the equipment cost?

Ecuflash is the software that allows you to change fuel, timing, boost, rev limits, and more. Basically you read the memory off your car's ECU, make some changes in the maps and parameters, and load it back up. It's very powerful stuff and with the right equipment it is competely self do'able. You just have to learn what does what and what to look for, but it's not brain surgery. Just take things slow, make slight changes, and look at the results. Do you have to change something more, is it just right, or change it back?
As far as cost;
a lap top (300mHz+) $200-$1000
you choice of logable wide band $200-$300
Tatictrix cable $90
Logging software (free-$25)
The price of being able to log and tune your own car at any time for any reason...
Well, you know.

You would need a wide band which you can find here: http://www.streettunedmotorsports.co...evo_tuning.htm

And you will need a tactrix cable which you can find here: http://www.tactrix.com/
After that you can find all of the software on the tactrix site and play with it. Once you figure the software out its pretty easy.

Guys, I have an EcuFlash tutorial stickied in the tuning forum. Just point to that.
