Question Evo 8 not starting up

I dont know anything about cars and i bought an 03 evo 8 with 585 hp and i jsut recently ran into a problem. I was beating on it a little bit and that caused a tick to start in my engine. I was driving it home, it stalled out and wouldnt start for about 10 min. I got it started, took it home, checked the oil (no check engine light or oil light ot anylight of the sort was on) the oil was low, i added about a quart and a half to bring it back to where it should be and it started right up. The next day took it out for a little drive and the ticking started again, ticking got louder and then it stalled out again but this time after it stalled the Oil Light went on, the car would not start and i had it towed back to my house and did a full oil change with Mobil 1 fully synthetix 0-40. The car still wont start, does anyone know what the problem could be?

Did you check to see if your drain plug is tight, to make sure you aren't leaking oil? Also, stick your hand down behind your motor, basicly where the head and the block meet. See if you feel oil. Let's start from there, keep us posted.

What about behind the motor, is there any oil?? When you go WOT, can you tell if your exhaust is blowing smoke?

By any chance do you know who installed the cams on the car before you bought it? The ticking could be lifter tick. for the oil, check the feed and return lines on the turbo. And when your car is warm and at an idle, hold your hand at the exhaust. If you end up with oil on your hand, your turbo bearings could be going bad.

The guy i bought it from built it so he installed the cams and i heard that the ticking could be from the lifters from a couple of people now. but as for the oil comming out i cant check that because the car wont start..could the plugs possibly be wet from trying to start it went it stalled?

does the car start if you push the gas pedal and turn the key? if it does will the car not idle? if thats the case it could be the Idle air control that is what im going thru now. are you tuned on the stock ecu or on a stand alone?

This is kinda hard without knowing what mods you have on your car. Is there any way that you can get ahold of the guy to ask him for a mod list? Also, have you checked your spark plugs?
