Evo vi 1999 - what to look for when buying?

Hi Folks,

I'm taking an Evo vi for a drive and inspection later (only a pic seen so far) and want to pick the brains of experienced Evo owners for some guidance before I see it.

I'm very experienced in car building and repairs, especially turbos so this side doesn't worry me too much but I want more information of what problems usually manifest themselves with an Evo having done 200,000kms (120,000 miles). If the engine is worn I can rebuild it but the box and diffs are a concern, also suspension, body, brakes, etc.

Can anyone offer some advice on typical problem areas or what to look for?

i know with the 8's and 9's the synchros can go after some abuse. my 8 shifts fine under normal driving, but if i'm pushing it the trans sometimes locks me out of 4th for about half a sec. just drive it regular see how it shifts and also with full throttle. Look for leaking diffs or TC too
