EVO or WRX

well In the next couple of months I will be getting either a 04-06 evo or a wrx, my questions is which one is more reliable.
the nearest Mitsu dealer for me is about an hour away vs the nearest subaru dealer is 15 minutes away. Im only considering this because if the car needs work I dont want to drive it an hour away.

which one is more reliable?

I have a buddy that has an 06 STi and absolutely loves it. It was his choice to buy that car that made me want an Evo. I would say performance wise they are both neck and neck. Any car can have problems so I really cant answer that one. I would say look at the price and the mod-ability of the car. If you are going to have this as your daily driver you might want to consider getting the Evo MR. Its upgraded suspension parts make for a very nice ride whereas the STi has such a stiff suspension that every bump is felt. Its really up to you as an 05 MR runs about 25k and an 06 STi runs about 28-30k. The 06 year marks the use of a MIVEC engine for the Evo. This is Mitsubishi's VTEC if you will. (Variable Valve Timing) I personally think the Evo IX is ugly. The VIII has a better look up front.

Hope that helped a little.

you know this is a really good topic.. Im in the midst of deciding between and Evo MR or STi. I was in the honda world for a while and realized on my 2nd honda its retarded and not worth the tickets lol, im not dissing on them for the ones who are good people. im leaning on more of the evo MR for my choice soon as i get outa ait. but what should i expect when or if i buy an evo? ive heard about this and that mostly about the clutchs suck and horrible boost lag but thats just all ppl here say I wana hear from actual evo owners. thanks for the time.

ive owned an 06 sti, 02 wrx, and now i own a 03 evo, and even though it has a blown motor now, ill always pick between evos, they are much easier to work on and and dont have to pull the morot just to do head work, or any real motor work, and the highest hp sti ive ever heard of is 850 where as ive heard of multiple 1000hp evos being street driven, the choice is yours, id take them both for a spin and pay attention to everything, also...find out if any warranty work has been done, wish i would have...
