It's not so much the turbo as it is the motor if your really going to push it.
The higher the boost, the higher the intake temperature.
The higher the intake temperature, the greater chance of predetonation/knock.
The more knock the motor sees, the greater the chances of paying for new pistons.
As far as pushing it;
I'm limited to 91 octane so 21psi is about my max (22 on a cool night). Anything past that needs something to combat knock; high octane or some type of injection system.

PS (This is just my opinon)
I've never been a fan of water, propane, alcohol, or water injection, especially on a daily driver. If you have to run run some type of injection system it means your pushing the turbo past it's efficiency, insufficient fuel system, or too low octane fuel. It does work though and people have made good power with it. I just believe the fewer the parts, the fewer the chances of something going wrong.
It's only fun if the bottle isn't empty.

Same as running race gas - it's only fun if the tank is full of race gas, which is far more expensive than one gallon of denature alcohol once every 3 weeks. I'd love to just run 100 or 104oct all the time, but at a minimum of $60 per tank every week and not being readily available, I opt for the $12.77 for alky once every 3 weeks, which I can get right across the street at home depot.
