gas mileage

hi, i was wondering what kind of gas mileage you guys are getting with your modded evo's ? when i say modded i mean basic bolt-ons: turboback, mbc, intake, safc, etc. My galant vr4 drank gas like it was nothing. i was putting in 30 bucks every 3-4 days! do evo's get about the same? thank you guys for your help

I run 11's and get 27 mpg highway.... does that sound better or worse to you?

Getting 18 mpg highway means you are running on a horrible tune.

FOURDOOR: if i may ask, what size injectors are you using? Do larger injectors=poor gas mileage? Or is it all in the tune?

AHHHHHHHH! this whole gas mileage/insurance thing is holding me back from the evo! it sux because i want to pick up an evo really bad and i only have a month to decide!

thnx for all the help guys.this forum is coming along great!

I am running on 1000 cc injectors with the AEM EMS running the show for fuel managment. It is all in the tune and driving style when doing long highway runs. I generally run 80 mph steady and stay out of boost unless needed. Now I did drop from 22 mpg daily driving down to 19 mpg daily driving with the 1000cc injectors over my old 680cc injectors. It does run a bit rich at idle. My average when daily driving the car is around 18 mpg because I do love to have fun with it, and if I am just driving it for fun (WOT most of the time) I have seen a worst of 15 mpg out of it.
