Having Tranny prolbems? Change to a better fluid.

I was having some annoying problems with my tranny. I could not shift into reverse without first going into 4th. Also, I would have a great deal of resistance shifting into 1st just about all the time. My other gears would not shift smooth either. Going into 2nd and 3rd I would get the crunch sound as I shifted.
I changed out my fluid to GM Syncromesh tranny fluid. The tranny now works properly and I can shift as fast as I can throw the gear!!! Second gear grind is a thing of the past!!!! Only cost me $35 for the fluid from the Chevy dealer here in town.

It is well worth it. Alot cheaper than a new tranny and will save your tranny in the long run.

The GM syncromesh is pretty much the same thing as the BG.

They are both about $30 dollars for 3 quarts. It might be easier to go with the GM fluid because any Chevy dealer will have it. The BG might have to be ordered.

something wierd with my DSM is like that. My tranny never really felt bad, but I'd have grinding going into second occasionally.

then I put BG in and those grinding problems went away, but when I'd shift into reverse it would grind. Now I just do 5th first everytime before reverse and its fine...but I know a lot of people that have to do that...ohh well.

So yeh the BG fixed some problems and caused others. I put 2.5 qts in...and drained over 3...It was overfilled before...anyway. Just thought I'd share that since it was related.
