Question Life span of an evo (# of miles)

Hello I have an 05 Evo, I was really thinking about selling it since it has 67,000 milis on it. But i'm not quite sure what the life span of an Evo is. Around how many miles should I start shopping for a new car. I already need a center diff which i cannot seem to find nowhere and is gonna cost me a total of 4,300 to fix at the dealership. So long question short, is 67,000 miles on an Evo a lot? I'm kinda new to the Evo scene so any help would really help. Thankyou! Oh yeah one more thing, my car is completly stock. I don't plan on modding it at all.[/

Im about to hit 60,000. Another moderator on here, SicLanEvo has already passed 120,000 i think....There is also a guy on another forum who has actually hit 200,000 miles and is basicly stock. So, if youre planning on selling because youre at 67,000, well, I think youre crazy lol.

Ok first off i think Rookhoe already addressed the 3 posts issue.

On to your questions. There are many evos with well over 60k on them, me included. The TC issue needs to be addressed....Are you the first owner of the car? if so, do you launch your car alot? Contact sheptrans for your trans and diff needs. They can rebuild yours or you can purchase new.

Second issue have you done your timing belt service? if not i would get on that too because if that goes you will need at least a new head.

The reason I asked about your diff is My car still has stock block, stock head, stock trans, and stock diffs, none of them have been rebuilt or replaced. I do not drive my car light and I have beat it up in the past. Its all about matience though. Now take a guess how many miles I have? Rookhoe says above 120kand hes right but its more like just under 170k. And my car is not stock. I have all the bolt ons plus cams and alky injection. cams have been on since 90k, original clutch was replaced at 85k. and alky was added around 115k. the only thing i had to do to my TC was replace the seals. I also just replaced my IACV and they say your supposed to do them around 60-80k.....mine went to almost 170k. I hope this answers some of your questions. Also as far as the tranny goes I down shift all the time and I only drive 80mph as a cruising speed on the highway.......gotta love FOP tags!
