Well, my name is johnathan, I do not actually own an evo, but would like to be apart of your community to learn somewhat about the 4g63. Could you guys tell me any about the manufacturer flaws with the car? BTW I drive an 04 spec v so I'm accustom to engine failure

thanks

what are you looking to learn about the 4g63? are you looking into the 4g63 of the older style eclipses or the newer evo version? Flaws will depend on year and honestly nothing really comes to mind for the motor.

I'm looking for an evo 8 or 9, I would like a 6-speed, because that's what I'm used to, I don't think I would be able to afford an MR, however. Just looking to learn what some popular mods on the car are, and if anyone has had any trouble with it. I didn't know it when I bought my car, but the Nissan QR25de is riddled with problems, I've already had my motor and transmission replaced once. If not for a warranty, I would be in some SERIOUS debt. lol

Personally the only mods i would consider on my DD evo8 is basic bolt ons intake and intercooler piping, and a stock evo 9 bov. along with these a electronic boost controller AFC and a couple essential guages and im set but thats really just me i love the car pretty much the way it is and also its a DD.

AFC FTL! Ecuflash is free once you have the cable and its makes the afc look like a childs toy. ecuflash can control all aspects of the ecu and even set your 2-step launch control with it. I am running a TBE, FMIC, IC pipes, Fuel Pump, 272 cams and gears, alky all tuned with ecuflash and I have been running this exact set up for a long time.....My car has 146k on it. and it runs like a champ!

ECUFLASH FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
