not necessarily stock, but the air care colorado will only do my car with the same size rims and tires, so stock will probably be the easiest to find. the brembos are big and hard to find a rim to fit over them.

the problem basically is the brakes, there are too damn big for regular rims. carz performance doesn't have an extra set and there shop car is at the chassis shop. I'm pretty much lookin at buying used rims and tires for a 15 second emissions test. my car is gonna sit in the garage till i figure something out. thnks for the replies, let me know if anyone can help.

thanks again to EVORSTROY for the rims. I contacted the gov. representative about this issue "not like it will make a difference" but they said they will have to look at this issue. Just for future reference to all of us car modifiers..... save your stock parts and never add anything permanent ie... molded body kits and stuff!

That's really odd. I got an emissions in Broomfield at an Envirotest facility with my 18's on. They said that they couldn't do a normal test with an Evo, so all they did was an idle test (didn't even hook up the OBDII)!!!

There is no Colorado law (that I'm aware of) that states that the stock size tires must be used for an emissions test. Sounds bogus to me...

They say that because the have fu(ked up some rims and lost some law suites. So that is why they say that. At least that is what the manager told me at Peoira and 38th testing place.

this is the common reason for this, the low profile tires. and lowered cars will get the same treatment, even on stock wheels, so just remove your front bumper as well before going (don't take this as a statewide reccomendation, I know for sure at the south jeffco station)

the south jeffco e-test stations rollers are like 3 inches lower than the surrounding pavement, and they don't strap the cars down, it's real easy for them to swing right and left and kiss a wheel.

that and these are minimum wage workers we are talking about here, I know for a fact that two workers at that station never graduated from H.S.

My buddy with his evo had to to the idle test, but they actually put mine on the rollers. It definitely made me nervous. This was with stock wheels on, my 18's are in the garage for winter.
