need help with a problem that just occured

Hey my names Doug, im new to the site and was hoping some of you could help me figure out what is wrong with my car...i recently moved down here to North carolina fron New york abotu 4 months ago...my car was funning fine when it was in NY and i moved it down here and it had to sit for a few months...istarted it up alot and i just got it on the road acouple of days ago, i changed all fluids, put new spark plugs and put fuel injector cleaner in it to make sure my injectors were to not be cloged....now... when i go above 10psi the car actually jerks but still has power....it does it threw 2nd gear and up...i checked all of the piping and everything is good so there is no leaks in the intercooling part nor the turbo....any ideas on what it could be? maybe im running too rich and need to get it re-tuned for down here in NC? any help would be appreciated!

I would pull your plugs and make sure that theyre gapped correctly. Also, what ive noticed with my Evo is that when I travel from here in VA up to NY, it runs differently. So it could very well be your tune also.

i checked all the gaps on the plugs and they are in spec....do you really think that little of altitude will make the car run like complete shit? like its a feeling unexplainable....it feels like it running way too rich.....unfortunatly i do not have a wideband a/f guage :/ ...i just hope its nothing to expensive to fix

It will affect it slightly, but I dont think to the point of making your car sputter. I definately would like to see where your AFR's are at though. Are there any other symptoms?

i would start by buying new plugs. what plugs did you just put in them? Also how many miles do you have? maybe its wires or even a coil pack. Lastly I would def have a boost leak test done. you think its not leaking but still could be. Many evo owners find the stock TB shaft seals leak from the factory and over time it just gets worse. Is your car throwing any check engine codes?

throw those pos plugs out. That is your problem right there. NGK iriduims are the only way to go. NGK bpr7eix, br7eix, bpr8eix, or br8eix. what are you mods so i can tell you which one would be best for your setup. the bpr series is standard coldness in the 7 version with a protruding tip. if you use the br series in a 7 its half a step colder then stock. the bpr8's are one step colder and the br8's are 1.5 steps colder. i run the br7eix on mine with all basic boltons with alky. you may need to run the bpr8eix if your just full bolton. i gained 12whp with the br7eix over copper ngk bpr8es'. Sometimes advanced auto parts has them in stock or can have them next day. swap them you wont be disappointed.

i got crosworth 272 cams, full injen intake with intercooler piping, ams intercooler, turbo xs boost controller, walboro 225 fuel pump, downpipe, and full catback exhaust everything else is stock....i went to a shop today and he test drove it and said that it could be the fuel system and or air fuel ratio since its been sitting for 4 months with the same gas in it....he also said the injectors (since mine are maxed out) should be replaced also bc im not putting enough fuel in there...

Nice mod list. But I dont think your injectors are maxed out yet. What shop did you end up going to?

your injectors shouldnt be maxed out, but will be close. Also you didnt explain the whole situation to us.... Old gas will def cause it to run like shit. get some major octane boost and some dry gas to clear up and water or moisture in the lines. Your plugs are still a major issue regardless of what the shop says. change them out and save some more headache in the future.

Plugs could have been bad before you swapped also. Plan of attack

BG 44k fuel cleaner and some dry gas immediatly!
NGK plugs go with the br7eix!
Then explore the fuel system after you fill your tank with straight 93 2 or 3 times, making sure you run it down super low each time.

Get back to us after you try the above, or go drop hundreds of dollars at a shop to try and diagnose what we have already listed....

If this hasnt worked check your timing at the crank....
