Sic is right about the hose. And I also agree that the 35r is more than enough for the power levels that youre looking for. The FP Red and the BBK bolt directly up to the motor without need of a kit and you can easily hit 400+ HP with correct tuning and minor supporting mods with those 2 turbos. The Red and the BBK spool a lot faster than the 35r as well.

If youre pretty much going to be daily driving your Evo and making the occasional trip to the track, just do yourself the favor and get the FP Red or BBK. They are stock framed turbos and in my opinion, pretty much just as reliable as the stock turbo.

These motors are strong. Youll be able to drive your car after just doing the install of the FMIC, but tuning is HIGHLY recommended after in order to get more out of it. Pretty much as with any performance part that you install on the car, you want to get it tuned. How much is the shop that youre going to charging you for your tune?

What I recommend to a lot of people is to download ECU Flash and EvoScan on to their laptops and buy a Tactrix cable. Then start researching online and step by step, learn how to tune. There are plenty of sources that will help you with it, and in my opinion, its way cheaper.

thanks guys. so i could sell the gt35r and buy a fp red. i found a couple sites and it seems pretty cheap for the turbo. 1799.99.

Says it needs full flow oil feed lines??

There are wastegate options, stock, 18 psi or 25psi?

Compressor cover, 64mm stock appearing or 80mm surge.


If i go with the 80mm surge, says i will need a new intake. so gotta find out how much that is too, already got the intercooler from AMS and lower intercooler piping, now gotta figure out what size injectors ill need. Anything else??

I am going to Synaptic 3 in Candia,NH. cost will be 500.00 for dyno time and tune.

I bought those plugs, waiting for them to come in, no one stocks them here. Anything else ill need to install that turbo, or is it just a bolt on turbo, everything else is ok? Can i still use the full race exhaust manifold for the fp red turbo? And tial wastegate?

I prefer the 25 psi wastegate, so when you do eventually turn your boost up enough, you wont have to worry about the spring in the stock wastegate not holding it. I had that problem once, and was still on the stock turbo.

$500 isnt a bad price, depending on how they tune. Is their dyno a Mustang or a DynoJet?? Hopefully they give you a copy of the dyno graph so that you can post it on here. How do you feel about self tuning??

Most of the time, nobody will stock those plugs. So get used to ordering them, and its always safe to keep an extra set on hand.

Technically, the FP Red can bolt right up. Most people just replace the lines so they can maintain the longevity of the turbo without concern. Its always a safe bet. If you were to stick with the 35r, you would end up having to replace all the lines anyways.

I cant be sure about the Full Race exhaust manifold. Im still a fan of the stock manifold. Its strong, and by getting it ported and coated, people have seen some impressive gains. I have a friend who is pushing 500+hp still on a ported and coated stock manifold.

Advanced auto parts gets them for me in a day! 25psi wastegate is what you want! Stock mani works great once ported and coated!

Got it dyno'd and tuned. Put down 253 to begin, now puts down 300 awhp. And 300 tq. They will mail me the chart. Got a print out as well. MaXing out the Injectors right now. So got an intercooler commin. Go to get new Injectors and he doesn't like the manual boost controller, wants me to get a electronic. Also recommended the FP red and not the gt35r. Now I just gotta sell it.

how are your injectors maxed out at 300whp??? Something doesnt sound right in that area.

I'm not sure. I don't know much about these cars. What do I think could be the problem? He said I'm about maxed out on the Injectors. : / I dunno. Also sometimes I push the clutch in and it idles down and dies sometimes. Vacuum goes low. Cams?

There is no way that your injectors are maxed out at 300 hp. I was making over 390 hp at the wheels and at that point just started thinking about buying bigger ones. Would your car idle down and die before your tune?? And when you say "cams?", are you asking if you should get them, or if theyre the problem?

your cams are more then likely your idle issue but it could die if the BOV is not adjusted properly too. your injectors should have a lot more room to go before needing new ones. you need to put a fuel pump in your car and get some 272 cams. get your car straight with matience and basic bolt ons before just throwing parts at the car, just throwing parts at it will def not net any worthy gains.
