I know this is an evo forum so its kinda bias but I have heard both subaru and mitsu screw people out of their warranties very easily. Also, with the EvoXI is the aftermarket even there for them yet considering they have MIVEC in them? I heard tuning shops refuse to tune them because its such a new concept. Honestly, im leaning towards the GTO now because i dotn think they would be as stingy when it comes to warranty situations. I am definitely a tuner so boost controllers, intakes, exhausts, and other goodies would definitely be on my evo sooner than later. Would mods like that void my warranty and how do you guys get around it? Thanks

Oh come on. Are you serious? Coming from a 2g, GSX on top of that, you already know an Evo and the potential of a 4g63. Hands down get an Evo.
Modding it will void the warranty, but if your that worried about it don't go too crazy with the mods and keep your stock stuff. If something serious happens swap the stuff back and take it in. You've been with out a warrenty anyway, so you know how to service it; oil, tranny, T.C., rear diff., etc... you know the routine.
The market will come around once they stop being scary and realize MIVEC is basically an adjustable cam gear. Basic parts from the VIII will fit the IX anyway. Keep the gauges, boost controller, and electronics from your 2g, they will transfer over.
If your still worried about the IX/MIVEC, just get a VIII. You already have parts and more importantly, knowledge.
