Good information, I just picked up my IX and this is some nice little background on the car that you don't really get at the dealer.

check your matience manual. Typically most cars with timing belts need them done every 60k. check the matience guide for futhur info.

Hey guys, I just picked up an 08 EVO X GSR and notice that the brakes are pretty squeaky. It has 27,000 km on it. i noticed this problem with my 350z after about 50,000kms. is this something that happens to EVOs or should I be concerned?

Pads are probably done. is it from the front or rear? does it make the noise when the brake is not applied or right after its applied and released? do you know the history of the vehicle? some people drive harder then others and this could be a result of that or maybe the brembo pads for the evo are not supposed to go that long. Check your owners manual, matience guide or consult your local dealer and see when the brake pads should be inspected.

On my evo 8 I got 70k out of the OEM pads and almost 100k and counting out of my project mu's but i Def need to change them coming up.

I posted this in the other thread as well...

The Brembos squeek at times. Its gonna happen. The only way to determine if your brakes are wearing down is to take your wheel off and look at your pads.

I have these Yellowstuff pads installed and theyre great. They still squeek sometimes (and for other readers, yes, I used the brake grease that goes on the back of the shims.)

Back on topic, if your pads still have meat left on them, take the pads out and grease up the shims, it will get rid of some of the vibration and noise. Its cheap too, maybe, $2.00 a pack at Advanced Auto or Autozone. They sell it at the register. Hope that helps.

My pads lasted me 52,XXX miles and still had life left on them, I just wanted to switch my pads. Have you ever tried rev matching and slowing down through gearing? Some will say it isnt good for the tranny but I havent had any problems. It'll lengthen the life of your brakes.

SOS guys!

1) Where can i buy front wheel bearing? i read all the threads in the forums and barely can i find any direct recommendations....

2) everytime i turn left theres a tapping noise comin from the left suspension area (sounds like rubber hammer tapping the inside wheel well), so i went ahead and changed both front strut mounts and tie rods.....the tapping continues!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!! i just bought a Evo8 couple of months ago, am truly excited about it except for this two things

THANKU

Hey, how you doing guys. Just purchesed a "06 Evo and I am not guna lie I jumped in kinda fast. Also this is the first standard car I have ever owned or try to drive, honestly, so never the less my clutch went out. I am trying to see round about cost on having this fixed. I already saw this is not for even tha most experianced weekend worriors so that is already out of the question but not forgoten. Any feed back would be appriceaded.

Thanx
