Newbie Evo Buyer

Greetings all!

I am looking to purchase an Evo this coming up summer. The Evo VIII (03-04) in fact. Was hoping for some purchasing advice:

What should I look for?
Stock or modded?
Miles?
How long will the engines/ etc last for?
What are common repairs/ maintenence that need to be performed?
Best valued mods for a stock evo or what to add on.
Other tips in general with the Evo VIII.

Thank you!

Kindest regards,

Nate , from Cleveland Ohio

Congrates, you really want to looks for a stock or close to stock car as possible. If its stock you can get warranty cliams and you know what the car is doing, tuning wise. Obviously go for as low miles as possible but 03-04 vehicles are now getting up to were you won't find many less than 50k miles. The engine will last nearly forever aslong as you keep up with maintainance and don't abuse the car. The timing/balance shaft belts are the biggest maintainance and should be done every 60,000 miles or earlier, always.
With a drop in air filter, exhaust, intercooler pipes, boost controller and a good tune and you looking at a potent street machine. Hope this helps, let us know if you have anymore questions.
