Non evo start up issue - Mitsubishi Evolution Forums: Mitsubishi Lancer Forum

I have a lancer, non evo, I apologize by posting in here but I haven't found any non evo forums. My issue is the vehicle will not start unless I pump the gas pedal. Just turning the key results in a constant crank. The problem progressed over 1 day. It started where it would crank 2 or 3 more times than the usual and then would start, now it just doesn't start at all unless I give it gas. Anyone heard of this before or have a suggestion? The only thing I have done is changed the plugs and it did not help. I was told TPS but I can't even find out where that is located.

TPS is throttle position sensor. its on the Throttle body. check mitsu-media.com or evolutionm.net they both have sections for regular lancers. did you work on the car previous to this problem? If so what did you change?
