not hitting full boost

I bought my 04 evo 8 rs. i basically stayed out of boost until i got it home, and when i finally started to hit boost it was only going to .08 bars, which is maybe 12psi? the mods are no cat, catback, bigger intercooler injen hardpipe, but stock intake, but the intake doesnt have the top cover on. today i switched the hardpipes back to stock ones because my bro has had an evo in the past, i thought maybe bc the bov wasnt recirculating and was running rich it would cause lower boost. but now im stumped...

Oh boy.... Ok you need to check the routing of the BCS (Boost Control Solonoid) vaccum lines and make sure they are all correct from the wastegate acutator ect... Then after you are certain they are pull the neg off the battery to reset the ECU then go drive it to see if it is hitting full boost... Try this first.

I'm having the same problem but I have an 06 MR and its running at 12psi. Before I bought the car I brought it to a shop and they told me the Greddy BC I have was disabled and the car is running on a defualt. They also told me not to turn the Greddy back on bacuase they dont know if the ecu was flashed for what ever the BC was set to. can anyone make some since of this? What do I need to do?

12psi means you guys are running wastegate pressure, which means the boost system is improper. Here it is quick and dirty:

- If you're using the stock boost system, it means the previous owner tried to put it back to stock and didn't use the OEM boost lines. YOu need to go to your local Mitsu dealer and purchase them or go to Mitsubishiparts.net and buy them for about $15. I can't remember the part #, but it's an entire set of boost hoses
- If you have an aftermarket boost controller, then 12psi means it's not hooked up right

12psi is a very common problem and many people have the problem without knowing if they don't have a boost gauge - it's funny and sad at the same time.

So I checked out the boost controller and I found that everything is installed correctly. I dont know if the ECU has ever been flashed or what settings have been put in the boost controller, so I dont want to turn it on. What I would like to do is set the BC to the stock 19 psi settings. Does anyone know what these settings are? I've read the tuning how to guide on evolutionm.net. I have no way of monitoring the A/F ratio so I am hesitant in trying to tune it my self. Any input plz?

Not recirc'ing your BOV will cause the car to have idleing issues. I used to have a 98 Eclipse GS-T that I didnt have recirc'd and the car was really touchy at a dead stop. Once I hooked it back up that problem was gone. Granted im not a wiseman on Evo's but if you dont know if the ECU has been flashed cant you just go get it flashed again? Then you know what it has. Usually a good idea to not buy someones project either as thats what this sounds like it was the the previous owner.
