o2 dump; Pro's and Con's

What are the Pro's and Con's of a 02 dump/external wastegate? Of course it sounds good when you're going full throttle. What's the benefit and what is necessary to have it done if it's worth my time? Where & how much? Thanks

The reason you ideally want to dump the wastegate exhaust is to prevent turbulance from being created in the downstream exhaust by being reciculated in. This turbulance would slow spool and besides it sounds freakin sweet. Hope the cops in your area don't suck, cause they will learn to follow that sound. Oh, and as for emissions, it is illegal.
You can look search online venders and you can find O2 housings with wastegate dump tubes to keep an internal wastegate or you can remove the wastegate flapper and get an O2 housing with a external wastegate flange attached with a dump tube. This is not the ideal setup for an external wastegate though, the best location to control boost is it being mounted on the manifold. However, if your not going for a large turbo the O2 housing location would be fine. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks bro, what would be a good site trustworthy in the future to buy it from?

Ok the O2 dump only has the same performance benefits of a regular o2 housing. It also makes a lot of noise, like very iggnorant noise. Hear one in person before you buy. Also depending on what state you live in it may fail emissions. In MD were i live they don't look they just plug into the computer. No running on the rollers or inspection just check the ecu for codes and make sure everything is working. IMO just get a o2 houseing and stay under the radar. Its bad enough you can hear me coming from far away but if i had a o2 dump you could follow me to another state. Listen to it in person the videos do not give you a true sound quality.

hehe, you make it sound like it's the loudest car around. In my county, we don't have any emissions restrictions since my county is small and mostly country. I'm good on the emissions part where I'm located. I just like the fact that the o2 dump has show and quality. :]

Yea, I seen a few vids on youtube about it. The good part about it is it only sounds like that while you're in WOT. Other then that, it wouldn't annoy me. The sound reminded of back then when my intake snorkel was loose and it would sound just like that but not as loud as it is with a o2 dump.

i really wanted one too until i heard it in person. I raced a buddy of mine on the highway and its way to loud. If you live in a small town then your going to get hell for it form the local, county, and state PD. if you hit full boost everyone in your own will know its you. It is extremely loud. My friend who has it is way louder with 400whp and the o2 dump then my other friends +600whp evo. The videos don't let you really hear it.

Thats fine with me; it only activates when you hit full boost. It's not like I'mma hit full boost for long periods of time in a small town. One pop here and there is good enough. I might just get one just to have and when it's that time, i'll let the beast yell out from the top of it's lungs.
