Power without a lot of sound

I wanna be as inconspicous as an Evolution can be lol, so as for upgrades basically im asking when i do because i believe i will have to upgrade my BOV, and of course my exhaust, which ones draw the least attention, i want the performance, but not the noise, i dont need everyone on the street going TURBO, i know its a turbo thats good enough for me , so my question is are there any sites, that show off BOV sounds, or exhaust sounds, and does anybody have any recomendations

Well, If you want your bov sound loud then you will need to replace airfilter, so that air is going free from bov... After you replace your airfilter box to aftermarket filter, your stock bov should sound loud. But I would not recomend to replace your stock bov, they say its a best bov for evo. But if you want it aftermarket bov than get HKS or Agency Power bov.
If you want your exhuast sound wrought, than you would need to get turbo back exhuast or atleast cat-converter.

He said he doesn't want sound.

This is what you need:

- Keep your stock BOV - it is awesome. Why did you think you'd need to replace it?
- Retain the stock intake and don't touch it - leave it stock
- Keep the stock cat-back and install a test pipe

05evo, you are not making good suggestions on the BOV. You suggest the Agency Power and HKS BOVs, but neither of those should be used on an Evo, and they certainly shouldn't be the first ones you recommend. We are only supposed to use fully recirculating BOVs, and the top ones are the JDM MR DV and Forge RS DV.

Exactly what I was trying to say! When I bought Agency Power BOV I had to replace O-ring to seal plate on BOV so that it can hold 20psi+ with out any leak.

so even if i went stage 5 BR, i would be okay? Because the evo already draws enough attention. Would it be any throater, or would i still have that nice crisp unmodded engine sound

Staying stealth now days is not a bad idea. If your looking for an aftermarket cat back, look for one with a resonator and make sure the resonator is a staight through perferated core with a consistant diameter. Some systems now days come with some sh!tty louvered cores with a 2.5 or less internal diameter.
If your really serious about sound and want to stay under the radar you might just mant to take things into your own hands. Source the bends, muffler, and two resonators yourself. Find a muffler shop that can do the job and have them weld it all together. Have them base it off the stock cat so you can swap it in for smog tests and you can still pick up your choice of aftermarket downpipes. Basically have them build you a stock flanged testpipe and catback. Maybe have them include a resonator in the testpipe and one in the catback piping and paint it all flat black.

I have the Buschur racing 3in exhaust with the high flow cat and the magnaflow, and it is just barely louder than the stock exhaust system.

The stage BR stage II mods (intake pipe) will make the turbo and bov alot louder however. I couln't hear my bov when it was stock, but I replaced it with the stage II parts and a 1g bov and its alot more noticable but still not really noticable outside of the car.

I'd stick with the stock airbox and a dropin filter for the sleeper effect, that and there is only a minimal gain with intake and uicp (on the stock turbo anyways).

can you explain to me why you used a 1g bov when your MR bov works perfectly fine?
just curious

The "MR" Bov was only on the JDM MR. All USDM 03-05s have the same POS plastic BOV. It is a very common mistake for non-MR and 06 Evo owners to think all USDM MRs came with the aluminum BOV just because we call it the MR bov. It's really called the JDM MR DV, and "JDM" is the oprative term.

Camoner, by no means could you do BR stg 5 and keep the stock sound - that's crazy. Stg 5 is HUGE in terms of mods - it would completely change the car. Maybe you meant to say stage 1 with a hi-flow cat and magnaflow muffler? That's the only way to stay quiet.

Warrtalon already kind of said it but the stock 05 bov/diverter is plastic, similiar to what came on the 2g eclipses.

Camoner, I would recommend the br exhaust with the magnaflow, like I said above it's barely louder than stock and has a low profile and resembles the stock muffler.

I had the muffler tip powdercoated black and its has a nice sleeper effect.

Man why you need to be stelf with evo. Everyone probably knows that evo is fast, ofcoarse if you want to race with some ricers, which is street ILEGAL! If you want to keep your car quiet then "Keep It Stock"

The only mods that make noize is aftermarket exhuast and aftermarket Air Intake with filter. All other mods you can replace and should not make any loud noize.
