Surge?

I was shutting my car down and as I turned it off the engine revved for a split second and came back to idle. I do have a turbo timer so is this common or what? While driving I also noticed a humming sound coming from underneath the car towards the rear. It sounded like when you have an amp and you get that humming noise through your speakers.

It's wierd huh? The same thing happens to me, but only if I turn the key slowly. It's on a turbo timer also.
As far as the humming noise; maybe check/change the rear diff. fluid.

Haven't experienced that, but I don't use a turbo timer - no hum either despite 20k miles of racing quite a bit. Can you hear the hum at idle? If so, then put it on a lift or on jackstands to get under the car and try to pinpoint the sound.

I notice the humming after a long drive....I commute a long way to work and by the time I get to work the humm is very noticeable. It fluctuates as I give it gas or let off.....could it be my fuel pump?
