thinking about trading in my RSX for an EVO

I currently have a 2005 RSX type-S with basic bolt-ons and pretty nice suspension and wheel setup. I love doing track days and with my current setup I'm smoking my friend's evo viii (not stock).. and I know the evo is supposed to be way faster than an rsx so I'd love to find out what I could do out on the track with an EVO of my own!

Could anyone tell me some pros and cons to EVO ownership?
Are there any reliability/longevity issues etc I should be aware of before making my final decision?

thanks!

tell your buddy to learn how to drive his evo.....Just because its modded doesn't mean its better....Its all in the tune and setup. Honestly his car must be messed up. there are plenty of rsx's i have taken down with no question. evern type-s's with a k24 block and built. there is only one really fast all motor S around but he hasn't broken out of the 11.9's yet. Everything is done to that motor. I commend you on your driving. Ask you buddy to let you drive his.

No, his car will smoke the mine in a straight line.. My fastest 1/4 miles time was like 14.2 sec where his were like 13.0 or something like that..
I overtook him while road racing at a track day event.
he'd pull away from me on the straight away and I was on his ass by turn 5 and got just far enough ahead that he couldn't pass me on the staight the next lap.. my lead extended a little each lap

I understand that it was not drag racing you beat him in.....that is why I said he needs to learn how to drive. what suspension mods does you buddy have? depending on what year evo and hw much work is put into it, it should be able to run better then 13.0 I ran a 13.1 with bald tires, slipping clutch, and missed 4th....that was with very minimal mods and untuned.

The evo is a great car mitsu fixed every issue the 4g63 from the eclipses. its a solid car but matience is not cheap as opposed to the honda/acura crowd which there are an adbundance of options for which brings cost down. AWD period can be exspensive. Overall I love my car and i dont really worry about paying to have my stuff done because i do it all myself, so matience costs are low for me. My car just broke 154k and its still running strong modded with my stock turbo almost maxed out. I have had Zero issues with my car since day one. I do the regular matience and I drive my car hard daily! 100 miles a day round trip just for work.
