It's a bad idea to autox on all-seasons, because they have soft sidewalls and will rollover like a Vegas whore. You will need to put the pressures up high, probably in the low 40s just to somewhat combat that rollover.

just the man i was looking for!!!

yeah i know the all seasons are a bad choice and when i bought the car he threw in the stock tires, but i have not had time to put them on. I am not gonna push the car too much, just have a little time. At least we are changing the snow tires off of my wife's STI first.

Man, just go have the stock tires installed now!! They are a 1000X better than all-seasons, which will improve the daily driving AND make it MUCH faster in the autox, not to mention much more fun. I wouldn't drive a single day on the all-seasons with Advans sitting in the garage...

Definitely spend the $60 and get the A-046's put on. You'll be happier autoXing and you'll still have your all seasons for when you're done!

+1 on just getting them mounted but i will also play the devils advocate and tell you that learning to race on bad tires will make you learn to drive the car and not let the sticky tires cover your mistakes.

I placed 2nd in my bone stock car on fusion HRIs losing by only 1.5 secongs to a stage 2 STi on rt615s with a decent driver.

i usually run at 38-40 psi cold then try to keep them around that all day. much more pressure and you will tear up the inner treadblocks.

Well, actually, running on STREET tires teaches you to drive well, but not necessarily crappy all-season tires. They will teach you to drive slowly and not be aggressive.

At least start with street tires to learn and then go to r-comps later.

I ran the all seasons and did ok, The reason i did not witch up tires is because my wife's STI had to get the blizzacks switched off and we did not have time on friday to do both. I

alright i hate to say it but theres more ways than the warrtalon way...i respect you a lot and all the knowledge you are willing to share man but i disagree. i am in no way not agressive and am not slow which is proven by placing second in class and mid pack in RAW times since our novice class doesnt recieve PAX i cant compare. i was running similar times to A-stock which is basically where my car is minus my stupid clutch.

No, it is not proven by 2nd in class and mid pack in RAW times, because it's all relative. AS has a high pax, so your mid-pack raw time would be a very low pax time, and your 2nd in class is a novice class, so that's not a big deal.

In my example to you, I ran my street tires (RT-615s) this weekend and was 3.5-4s slower than my race tire times. I drove aggressively like always, but it didn't work. I had to drive like a grandma just to not push all over the place and squeal like a pig. Change my tires from RT-615s to some all-seasons, and it would have been twice as bad. Yeah, my raw times were still in the top half, but I was way off the norm and was not driving hard at all compared to how I drive on the race tires - it simply was not possible just as I know it's not possible to drive hard on your crappy tires.

Many times, what you think is aggressive is not remotely aggressive to someone else. You will learn this if and when you go from the Fuzions to real tires and then from real street tires to r-comps. Until then, it's just hard to understand.
