What to look for?

I am thinking about buying a 2005 or 2006 Evo once spring rolls around. I am pretty much in the dark when it comes to these. I have had a turbo Eclipse for the past year or so and just sold that. Looking to get into something a little faster. Any comments on what I should look for when going to test drive these? I saw the FPR hose was a concern for some. Do these have the same timing belt issues that the 4G63 Eclipses had?

i have almost the same questions as turbojunkie, i was looking to get in to a 06 but dont know what would be a better ride the IX or the MR

Well Marg I recommend looking at the differences in the model years on the sticky notes. Obviously the MR is going to be better/faster than the Evo IX. If money isnt really an issue I would say go with the MR. If money is kind of tight you might want to consider the 05 Evo 8. The way I look at these is just like the 2g Eclipse. 95-96 was the first gen. Lots of issues. 97-99 was the revised style and had less problems with it. I hope you see where im going there. Anywho, hope my info helped a bit.
