Is that black one with the wing yours or just a file photo you pulled up from somewhere? Looks like you have the wing, but I can't tell from the pic if you have the sunroof. Also I (obviously) can't see interior options

No, it's mine, taken in my driveway. I got the carbon-fiber wing and that's about it. No sunroof, single cd playa and that's about it. Of course, no boost gauge, but plan to fix that one soon( and add an egt gauge as well ). I'll take some more pics as soon as I can get one of those 'Import Tuner' models to pose with my ride...
Originally posted by nixstur Well, all it took was one test drive and the Subie has been replaced... Wat a ride the EVO is! Sweet is all I can say. I did drive the STi also, but it still underteers( like all WRXs ) and the corners dip a little more than the EVO in hard turns. So, I have 'Evolved'... Hopefully the transfer case holds up( been reading about some problems others are having ), but wat a ride!
I warned you. That was my mistake too. Once a rode in one, it was all over. Welcome to the club!
well having both cars...im gonna say it depends on how you need to use the car. the EVO is a str8 line and corner killer but around 180 miles (if you have a heavy foot) start looking for a gas station. the best i got so far off a tank was 235.... the wrx gets way more.
im not gonna lie i love the car but it depends on how much you wanna spen the EVO is a high maintanence car. gas (93 octane), insurance, oil changes, and new tires around 10-11k miles. i don't care i can pay for it.

I feel the same...the performance from the Evo is well worth the high maintanence costs...all high performance cars are high maintanence...
and the Evo is actually low maintanence compared to the cars it really competes with (performance wise)
like Turbo Porsches, AMG Mercedes, (smokes M class so its not listed), Ferrari's, Vipers, etc.
ehh...oops I'm thinking MR...but still the Evo is close comp for all that stuff...and they are WAY higher maintanence then it...

i agree, i have both an Impreza WRX MY97 and an EVO IV GSR '96. But both cars rock.
Wow, this is weird. I'm in exactly the same position.
I currently own a 2002 WRX lightly modded, on second tranny and second vicious coupling (previous owners loved the e-brake). I'm getting bored with it and annoyed by the tranny problems. I'm split btw getting a EVO or STI.
nixstur, did you trade in your wrx towards the EVO or private sell it?
I actually switch from awd to fwd, and back to awd
hello,
i had a fully modified wrx/sti 2.5 strocker, unmodded and given to son, bought a srt-4 spent 9k which made on bad straight line monster, but i couldn't drive it in the rain unless i stayed off the power, and in the snow it stayed home. bought the evo after a crash with my srt-4. i got hit in the rt. front, l. rear came around, made the recover then tried to brake nose dive (not characteristics of awd). needless to say my 26 years of accident free fast fun driving ended with a slide in the grass, spun around a couple of times, hit a stump and flipped over twice. i spent some time in the hospital and i'm back forever, "AWD!" but what better car to own no.#1 by many repetable testers. ,jac
