Balance Shaft and Timing Belt alignment

A question was posted on evom if you need to align your BS belt when doing a TB. The answer is yes.

Yes your BS belt must be aligned when doing your TB belt. The front BS turns your oil pump which needs to be aligned with the tick mark and the pointer. The rear BS tick mark needs to be at the 9 o'clock position, when at TDC.

If you BS belt is not aligned you will have a horrible vibration coming through the car.
Unless of course you want to be like and get rid of them, then you don't have to worry about aligning it.
