Manual boost controller install (Dejon Tool)
This is a little guide to installing a manual boost controller on an Evo VIII. I installed a Dejon Tool MBC on my 04 RS, but the same basics apply to all Evo's and MBC's. I installed mine in a difficult to reach spot, deep and well concealed behind the intake scoop (it's not like it needs constant adjusting). You can mount it anywhere you really want, but keep in mind that the closer to the wastegate the unit is, the better it will perform. Please, don't do this unless you have a boost gauge.
You will need the following tools;
10 mm socket and various extensions
regular pliers
needle nose pliers
hose cutter
Phillips screwdriver
zip ties
4 boost/vacuum caps (4mm)
Release the four metal clips that hold the top of the air box and remove the two plastic screws and clips on the scoop. Remove the intake scoop, top of the box, and the filter inside.

Loosen the clamps securing the BOV/CPV and remove the vacuum line (this is the line you need to tee into). Remove it.

Remove the two bolts holding down the bottom of the air box.

Lift the bottom of the air box so you can reach the MAS and unplug it.

Loosen the clamp securing the MAS/air box to the intake hose, slide it out, and remove MAS/air box. Now loosen the clamp securing the intake hose to the turbo.

There's a removable zip tie holding boost and vacuum lines. Remove it and release the lines from the little holders on the intake. Remove the breather hose on the intake pipe (it's in the middle of the picture), remove the return line from the boost control solenoid and remove the intake pipe.

Now you can see the boost and vacuum lines running from the turbo, to the wastegate, and teed to the boost control solenoid. Your going to remove all of them at the tee.

Cap the positive boost source and secure it with a small clamp or zip tie (I just capped the male to male piece Dejon Tool gave me and left the small piece of hose on).

Tee the hose running to the BOV/CBV. This will be your source running into the manual boost controller. Secure with small clamps or zip ties.

Make sure you set up the controller per the manufacturers instructions. Mount your controller where your want. Connect your teed vacuum source. The line out of the boost controller plugs directly into the wastegate.

Put everything back together in the reverse order. Double check your clamps and hoses.
Drive slowly at first and see what the boost is doing. Push it a little bit at a time to see where the boost is set at. Adjust it to your desired boost, screw in raises boost, and screw out lowers boost. Your done.
