390hp 385tq SICK!!!

What up! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I did.

Got to play on the dyno on sat...ended up with 390 hp 385 tq. at 25 PSI LOVE IT!!!

Preparing for Sat I was doing a little road tuning and started to up the boost. My gauage was showing around 26-27 pounds at this time I started blowing out my sparks. Pissed me of the car was running strong but I knew I it had more in it. Funny cause Lucas dyno and my car were about 3.2 pounds off, not sure why. Mine read higher in the car. Long story short we replaced the ignition with a COP and the car runs great. We started around 360 and worked our way up. My wastegate has to be adjusted a little more to hold boost a little longer out there. I will be back to break the 400 mark. We hit 400 but I backed it down for safety.

I will say, the cars pulls freaken HARD. I did a little playing around after words and lets say no one, couple tuned evos could keep up. The power is awesome!

This is E85, comp 280s, 9 turbo, tobz tuning

If you are I would change your mind and contact Buschur and get his custom grind cams. he says (with dyno to prove it it) but with these cams and the special grind he picked up 45 hp and close to the same amount of TQ. Unless you have comparable cams like Revolvers or Tomei or Jun all others are not worth it and he sells them both for $585. So when I do my 2.4 those are what I am getting. Just thought I would throw that out.

Evo 8 car, Evo 9 turbo, yes it has ARP headstuds, 280 cams and Titanium springs and retainers.

Brian, I look forward to seeing what that translates to in trap speed. We've been seeing huge numbers lately out of our Evos at Carz, so I'm a little confused. There's only so much power we can make at this altitude on the stock turbo, so it will be good to see where this power level stands at the track. I'm only at 324whp (DD) on my IX turbo on alky, which is about a 112mph trap and around a 12.1, so I'm eager to see if you will trap 6-7mph higher or if the gap is closer due to dyno differences. I expect there to be a difference to some degree, but not 60-70whp worth, so it will be cool to see if you can at least trap 115-116.

PS. What's up with the boost curve. It's climbing late and peaking WAYYYYYY late, and the point at which it is peaking is light years outside the efficiency of the turbo at this altitude. In fact, by the time yours peaks at 25 or so, mine has dropped to below 20 and is already out of breath. I do hit 26psi peak, but it's down near 4000-4200rpm or so. What's going on there? It's beyond reason to even have 25psi at that rpm at sea level, much less at this altitude. Is the dyno reading off? Whatever it is, I'd much rather have your curve regardless of the actual numbers, because my power peaks in the low 5000s and just dies from there. Yours at least hangs on until 6200 or so, but maybe most of this is explained by the 280s vs my 272/264 setup that made no power.
