ah, you lil newbies. It used to cost $600-700 for a flash with EcuTek. Al was a pioneer when he started doing flashes for $300-400, haha. Now, everyone wants a tune for peanuts!

Look, I said it earlier in the thread that I thought we had great tuners here and didn't need an outside tuner to travel, but you guys do have to remember that people like AMS have been doing it for FAR longer and have done FAR more cars. They also have the fastest Evos in the world, so their service/parts/tuning come with a premium. That's part and parcel to being the best.

i agree they have been in the game for a long time now, but when it comes to cost benefit...i would really be interested in seeing the performance vs dollar spent ratio in comparison to our local guys. WE will see what the co evos put up after ams is done tuning...stay tuned!

Unfortunately with the availability and knowledge sources to tune your own car the traveling tunes are going the way of the dinosaur. I believe that AMS is one of if not THE premier Evo tuner in the states. I think for what they offer and the time they've spent building thier customer base that most people will pay a little more. Not necessarily in tunes, but everything they offer.
