Okay So whicked E cam over to day and helped me, and he asked my why his car dropped rpms when he came to a stop. well I said I dont know. and It didnt happen to me(or so I thought) then he took me for a ride and it didnt do it, So after we did my little deal on my care, I drove around town, and and noticed it as well happining to me, anyone else this happen to or just us 2?
There are multiple things that can cause it:
- VTA BOV Nope, does it for both the IX Metal DV and the Forge RS BOV both re-circ'd
- Intake (untuned) I have the ETS intake... Does it for both this and the Stock one
- Poor tune Highly doubt this as there is another member in Denver with the same tuner I have and his doesn't do what mine does
- Cams Nope, no cams yet
- Other random, excessive mods that mess with vaccuum Define "excessive"
I'm leaning more towards a tweaked coupler that is allowing air to escape and/or get sucked in. Reason I say this is because I just blew off the turbo coupler after half-assing the clamps. It also seems to only happen while the car is warming up on the streets. After about 15 minutes of driving, the car refuses to allow this idle drop and acts normal. (Could this be the couplers become warm, thus expanding to "seal" the escaping air?) I'm going to pull all the couplers and spend time straightening them and torquing them down properly.
I had an issue with this too. I cleaned my MAF sensor and Throttle Body and then installed a grounding kit. Since then I've had little to no drop in rmps when coming to a stop. My voltmeter doesn't move a hair, whereas before it would jump from 14 to 12v. Good Luck
gotta love evos... that's all i'm gonna say :P
mine won't stop boost cutting at the current moment! JOY!
Also, it would help to get JustDSM to tune your car. He's the best in the region - although I'm biased, because he's the only one to tune my car...twice. However, a lot of other members would agree with me

You should not be hitting fuel cut (no such thing as boost cut). Are you not tuned? Are you running higher than stock boost? Do you have a way to regulate your boost?
With a tune, you will have no fuel cut, and no Evo should be modded without a tune. Continually hitting fuel cut could be dangerous and cause damage, not to mention the code you're surely throwing for an overboost condition.

Alright Sammi....now I am confused. You had an STI...then got rid of it for I think an Audi...and now you have an Evo? I must have fallen asleep some where.
To add to the thread....mine does it to. I have intake, cams, tune, and grounding wires on an VIII with a JDM IX recirc BOV...and it still does it.
Buy a can of CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner at Advanced Auto and give your sensor a bath. See if that changes anything. It'll only cost you $5.00 and some gas. You can also make a really cheap grounding kit for less than $40, with some battery cables. Even a couple of extra grounding points on the throttle body and injectors might help, which would only cost you something like $10. And lastly you could run a can of BG44K through your system to clean your injectors and fuel delivery lines for $25. Good luck bro, I did all these things and my car had ceased to drop below 800 rpms.
