Hello everyone, I made this thread because as you all know Justin is out on his training and won't be back until either the 29th or 30th of June. John and I were planning to meet in Boulder to rent out the dyno for around $450ish and was wondering if anyone else would be interested in joining us to split the bill. It could save us some money and Justin the time to drive down from Cheyenne multiple times. Please post here if you are interested in joining us and some dates that you would prefer. I would prefer the weekend, and a day close to when he comes back, so maybe the first weekend of July? Thanks.

Reason: mispelled
Remember that we have the next RMEVO meet on June 30th, which is also the first weekend in July. The 2nd weekend in July is the RMSOLO SCCA Divisional, which allows us to qualify for Nationals.
Is the full day rental only $450? That's crazy good, if so. I'm sure you can round up a group of people to split the time/cost and pay a little more for a nice tune from Justin. That's a great idea.
Well first thing is I need to see when Justin is available to do all this. He will be done training at the end of the month and we will have to go from there since I know he has alot going on this summer. I need to get a c-16 tune done also and I have a atleast one other guy that will be attending for sure. I will get with Justin tonight and see what he thinks.
I talked to Justin maybe about 5 days ago through private message, and this is what he said "I'll be back on the 29th or so.. So if you want to coordinate w/ John to get a date setup and then get back with me, I'll make the arragements on my end to ensure that I'm there." This is why I made this thread to see if we could work out a date together and we can see if anyone else was interested also. Did you have some of your friends who wanted a tune John?

That is what John told me when we met up in VAIL was that him and his friends rented out the Dyno with a discounted price for around $450, and you're right Clayton that is a good price because usual hourly rates for dyno renting can go anywhere from 80-100 bucks an hour, so anyone who needs a tune speak up!
I might be interested in going, I've wanted to get back on the dyno since my motor was pulled from my accident and make sure everything is okay, and I want to hopefully do a boost leak test before then. I also have a friend that would probably go to since he needs to get his car tuned.
Well at this point I am not going to be there, I have alot of issues with the car and have AMS sorting alot of them out right now. I will also be putting a ams 2.3l stroker or Crower 2.4l stroker, aem ems, springs and retainers, shep tranny, and hooking the meth up. I will be getting most of the installs done at 9 second racing in Denver.
Well, the 2.3 or 2.4 won't help with top-end. Those are going to be mid-range torque monsters that run out of breath up top. A stroker's powerband is pushed to the left. A built 2.0 will be the one that can rev to 9k with a properly-built head.
No need to rev to 9k if I am sticking with a gt30r, now if I wanted to go with a gt35r the 2.0 would be the way to go if I wanted to rev to 9000k. The 2.3 or 2.4 would be a great combo with the gt30r and can rev to 8200-8500 safely and provide great spool up and a 10-15% gain in torque. The reason the Crower made the list for my stroker choices is due to the fact that I can get it done in Denver which would be less of a pita then sending my short block off and waiting for AMS to get it done. 2nd would be that Crower makes great products and seem to provide very great results, the 9SR 2.4l stroker with a GT35r made close to 480whp on their mustang dyno on 91 oct at 25psi. It seems like a very very streetable setup and thats what I am looking for.
Oh, you're basing these decisions off what 9SR's suggestions at the same time that they are trying to provide the motor and turbo? Be sure to talk to AMS before making any huge purchases like this, or at least someone who really knows how to build Evos. 9SR is _not_ a place to go to get major Evo work, imo. I also am not aware of strokers regularly revving to 8200-8500 like you're talking about. 2.4s are also very rare on Evos, so be sure it meets your needs. You can easily get a motor built right down here in the Springs by the most reputable DSM/Evo engine/trans builder in the area if you don't want to send it off to AMS.
A GT35R will not even make 480whp on 91oct even on a Dynojet at sea level. At this altitude on a Mustang - not even a remote chance. Maybe with a huge 1.25 CF or something...
When did these guys get ahold of you? That's scary.
Im not basing my decision off 9sr don't know where you got that. AMS told me I could go 8500 on the track safely and around 8-8200 on the street. Who is this motor builder your talking about, and where is the proof they or he is good?
I'll back Clay up when talking about Jack in Co Springs. I haven't had him start my motor YET, because $$$ is tight right now, but he knows his stuff. I've asked around the Evo/DSM community and asked him many, many questions. I wouldn't be having him do my build if I didn't trust him or he didn't fully back his work.
